They prevent both diseases and pregnancies. However, they do not cover all diseases, for example, you could still get genital herpes and other diseases as well, even by using a condom. I have a good friend who did.
Plus, condoms do have a high failure rate, so they are not completely safe against anything.
Additionally, lamb skin condoms do not prevent against ANY disease, only pregnancy. People who are alergic to latex use this more expensive option.

Condoms do prevent pregnancy as well as prevent diseases. Just know their is no 100% guarantee that condoms will completely prevent you from either. Just be carefully

Latex condoms prevent pregnancy and diseases. Other types of condoms only prevent pregnancy. The important thing though, is that condoms need to be worn anytime he's sticking his penis inside you.

Latex condoms will prevent STDs and pregnancy; lambskin condoms will prevent pregnancy but not STDs because they are porous and viruses can get through them.
Not all protection is perfect and any other contact (oral, anal, etc.) can still transmit STDs.

They both prevent pregnancy with a 80% or so and they prevent diseases very well!!!

THEY CAN DO BOTH, BUT THEY ARE NOT 100% EFFECTIVE. THEY CAN EASILY BURST, TEAR, OR SLIDE OFF. THERE IS NOTHING MADE THAT IS 100% EFFECTIVE. THE ONLY THING IS ABSTANACE. SORRY!
