I don't like either, but some people have medical reactions to MSG, whereas salt is merely bad for blood pressure. I try to avoid excess amounts of salt, but in some strange way, I think if you make sure you get a lot of salt AND a lot of cholesterol in your diet, you will be fine. Think about it: the cholelterol will clog your arteries, but the higher blood pressure will force them clear! I wanna make a cheese fry diet, sell tons of books, and get rich!!!!

MSG, but they are both horrible. Both contain sodium which can affect blood pressure and I have to wonder whether they impact the electrolyte balance in the body. MSG is harmful as described by the first poster, however, I remember reading that glutamate may be produced by the body and is used to perform a certain brain function. The quantities are probably more limited than what you find in food additives.

MSG, without a doubt.

MSG has been classified as an "excitotoxin" by Russell Blaylock, MD, a neurosurgeon. He believes that it causes improper firing of brain neurons and that it could lead to various kinds of neuronal damage.

Besides which, if you have felt sick after a really big Chinese meal, you already know how much worse that is than eating too much salt!

Neither. What is worse is that people are worried so much about MSG and salt that it consumes their lives and they miss out on living!!!!!
