Welcome to Chicago.

Medieval Times in Schaumberg is a lot of fun. Some people like

Dave and Busters.
1030 North Clark Street
Chicago, Illinois 60610-5467

or Addison:
I-355 at Lake St.
(630) 543-5151

Definately check out Chicago pizza. I like Giordanos best, but Connies, Nancy's, Pizza Uno, and Pizza Duo are pretty good. They have lots of locations.

The Rock n Roll McDonalds is kind of fun.
600 N. Clark Street
Chicago, IL 60610 (312) 867-0455

Ed Debevic's

640 North Wells Street
Chicago, Illinois 60610-3718 ph: 312.664.1707

Easy to locate by the rock-and-roll oldies that are piped into the parking lot where crowds gather to wait for their tables, Ed Debevic's is a classic spot for high-school kids, children, and tourists. The decor is 1950s diner-style, with a bar done up to look like a soda fountain and a dining room cluttered with old Coca Cola signs, oversize gumball machines, and neon clocks. The food is what you'd expect -- burgers, chicken, and sandwiches make up most of the menu. Here you'll find a theme restaurant that dishes up an American cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost under $8.

Chicago sucks but have fun anyway. I grew up there but moved away a long time ago so I don't know if any of the places I liked are still there. I do remember X-Checker Pizza. One of the best pizzas I have ever had.

There is a block in downtown that sells nothing but popcorn, you need to go there. Also Chicago Pizza is some of the greasiest best stuff you will ever eat, arguably better than New York.

Depending on neighborhood you'll be visiting, here are some great options:
Sushi-Kaze Sushi (Seeley and Roscoe, in Roscoe Village)
Pizza-Giorando's Pizza (available all throughout the city). Get Chicago Style. If you hate thick pizza, go to Pizza Doc on Lawrence. Great authentic Italian thin pizza.
Mexican-Los Nopales (in Lincoln Square).
Southern-Wishbone (One downtown or one in Roscoe Village). Great breakfast
Vegetarian-Victory's Banner (open til 3pm only, great lunch and breakfast)
Thai-Ping Pong (Broadway). bring your own wine.
Bar with great food-Fizz on Lincoln Ave (they have fried potato salad, sweet potato chips with Blue Cheese dressing, too die for)

Super good. We'll be leaving Chicago soon and have been eating at these places like mad because we will miss them! Can't go wrong.

Ed Debevic's---It is always crowded at lunchtime.
Strictly a 1950s or 60s hamburger joint, but a lot of fun.
The waiters and waitresses are mostly acting students. (I think)
They will insult you with funny insults.
They will make up a nickname for you..Sparky, Slick, whatever.
Sometimes a group of them will get up on the tables and sing and dance.
Definitely a fun place.

If you want pizza, you have to go to Gino's. Get the deep dish (Chicago style deep dish, the real pizza) with sausage.
