As a mother of both a girl and a boy, I think the answer is not so much which is "better", but which would be better for the couple. Girls are more demanding emotionaly. In general, they are more calm than boys, but are worried about how their clothes fit, how their hair looks, etc. (and I'm talking at 6 years old!!!)
Boys, on the other hand, don't tend to care about those details as much. Yet they are more active in their activities. It is not always easy to get them to stand or sit still!!!
Best of luck to your friend, whichever decision they make!

I have one boy and two girls...they are all gret kids but somedays....well I think boys are much easier than girls. Girls get attitudes and the way they want to dress and the make up and dating and gossip and all the talk about not liking this one and 2 minutes later that person is sitting at my dinner table...it's killing me! LOL Boys on the other hand....sports...if you dont mind the occassional broken bones and friends...video games and building things in the backyard (and they dont know what they are making til its done) Boys are more down to earth. Definately a boy! LOL

It does not matter what the sex of the child is, it all depends on his or her environmental and biological background. If you raise a well balanced kid it doesn't matter if it is a boy or girl. Let me tell you, they all give you a lot of gray hair but the love you get in return will make up for everything, boy or girl.

Well, personally, I have 2 girls myself and I couldn't imagine having a boy cause everytime I see a young boy they are brats (sorry) but they are HoRRiBLe. However.. my husband wished and wished for our second child to be a boy, it's a girl. He says it's how you parent them.. and it just happens to be every time I see a little brat, they have bad parents. And as my husband always says.. "When you have a boy you only have to worry about one p*nis, when you have a girl you have to worry about a bunch of them". He is so funny.. something to pass on to your friends' making the decision.

I can't say that either gender is "better". I have 2 boys and a girl, and I can say that boys are definitely easier to handle. My girl is very sassy and tries my patience daily. My boys are easy going, and not much trouble.

I've heard boys are more challenging as youngsters but that girls are harder as they get older. Busy are slower to mature and they are rather wild (I have two, so I know from experience!). Girls are mellower (in general) until they reach puberty and the hormones kick in. Honestly though, neither is "better" than the other.

I think boys are easier to raise. You don't have to worry about PMS or periods or getting pregnant plus ya can be rough with a boy.
