Yes, and I will try to explain for you.
When you lie to someone... you are putting bad energy out into the atmosphere...
Your words and thoughts effect everything around you... this can be proven by the SCIENCE of Quantum Physics...
So if there is to be forgiveness for the bad thing you have done in this world there has to be some type of action to directly reverse the effects of this negative energy you have put into the world.
God can't just forgive. I'm sure he would love to.
But he set up this world before sin was introduced, unfortunately, by the devil.
So as a result, since the world naturally didn't have this bad thing (sin) it can't just have the sin reversed unless another action (of positive energy) happened to reverse it.
It really is all about the flow of energy and the scientific laws of it.
Sin was a product of the devil that is acted out by humans. God had to create an action by humans to be forgiven for this sin. Humans sin... so a human had to act to allow for forgiveness of sin.
Hope that helps... God Bless You!

Because, believe it or not, salvation is not free gratis. You have to work at it. Anything worth having must be earned. Jesus shed His blood for me, but I must work everyday to keep the commandments, follow Christ's teachings. It is not easy being a Christian, and I suspect that is why there are so many agnostics and atheists. No work involved, therefore an easier life on earth, but can you even imagine what it is going to be like at Final Judgement Day?

God sent Jesus not only to die for us but to also be the perfect example of obedience and love for God. He came to teach us to pray and to have a relationship with God since that is one of the major things we definitely lack.
It would be easy for God to forgive us but have we asked him for forgiveness?? Man sometimes it is difficult for us to forgive each other!! Have you forgiven those that have hurt YOU??

God is a God of mercy sure...BUT God is also a God of justice, He cannot just simply ignore laws. (Men like to ignore the laws of men however, but God actually has honor and ALWAYS fulfills His words and His promises...that is one reason we can have faith in Him and depend on Him because His promises are sure things)
What do ye suppose that mercy can rob justice? If God ignored justice - He would cease to be God...(justice is part of perfection)
So what is the law? to keep the commandments...does anyone perfectly keep all the commandments? If you do not, then you are under the penalty of broken law...what is the penalty? Death.
Is that fair? yes that is RAW justice ...a law given and a punishment affixed...we don't see too much raw justice in society today...there seems to always be some measure of mercy mixed in.
It is fair because you are given a choice...all men are free to choose.
2 Nephi 2:27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
But through the Atonement of Jesus Christ your penalties can be paid by another. He had the power to do it - because His literal Father was God. And He was qualified to do it - because He was perfect and without sin.
Alma 34:15 And thus he shall bring salvation to all those who shall believe on his name; this being the intent of this last sacrifice, to bring about the bowels of mercy, which overpowereth justice, and bringeth about means unto men that they may have faith unto repentance.
16 And thus mercy can satisfy the demands of justice, and encircles them in the arms of safety, while he that exercises no faith unto repentance is exposed to the whole law of the demands of justice; therefore only unto him that has faith unto repentance is brought about the great and eternal plan of redemption.

And, yet, thats not the strangest part.....not only did he send his son to die for your sins, but he sent his son to die to protect you and me from the wrath of....GOD HIMSELF!
what a bastard......creates all life, then creates evil, then gives us the illusion of free will (it cannot be real if God is omniscient) and then casts us into Hell when we become tempted from outside influences.... The story doesnt make any sense....

God's prescribed penalty for sin is death.
Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.

To God, sin is serious. Worthy of death. Aren't you glad that Jesus took your place?

Yeah. Apparently he thought it was a good idea to murder his son to show how much he loves us.
