Normally when I recieve a number I wait at least week before I call them. Is a week to long of a wait? Also sometimes she ends up calling me that day if we both give each other our numbers. Does that mean that she is desperate?

one week is sufficient...she may or may not be desperate. she may be just that into you. take a wait and see approach

Why does genuinely liking someone and wanting to talk to them again always come off as being desperate? I've never believed in "waiting periods", but if you do then wait a day or so and give her a call. Don't wait a week. To me that comes off like I was the last resort as someone for you to hang out with. Let's say you got the number today, which where I'm sitting is Tuesday, then give her a call tomorrow night. That's a long enough waiting period, that is if one is even necessary. Have fun with your new friendship!

You should definitely call her the next day, sometime around mid afternoon, cause you never know, the conversation might end up with you two hanging out that night. Don't call her the same day because that would seem too desperate on your part. And don't call the next morning, that's still a little desperate and she might think you're wierd for her being the first thing on your mind when you wake up. If you wait a couple of days, usually the passion she was feeling for you has mellowed out and it might be a little hard to get her back into that state of mind. This always seems to work for me, at least before I met my girlfriend, heck, it even worked on my girlfriend whom I've been with for 1 year so far. Good luck.

Did you already walk out of sight? Really, if a woman gives you her number and you wait a week before calling she figures you either lost it and just found it, or you were really bored and had nothing better to do so you called her. Not a good way to impress her. No woman wants to be an afterthought or a last minute attempt to hook up. Call her before you get to the exit if you really want to impress her...do it like a joke, and she'll giggle and be flattered, just don't call her every hour afterwards...
Call her that evening for the best results even if it's only to say, 'thanks for giving me your number"
Of course all this is based upon you actually wanting to get together with this girl, if it's the number of a girl you didn't really want to meet up with you should have just said "no thanks" up front...not easy to do, but far more honest.

Girls don't play the same games that guys do. If we really were interested and you gave us your number were nt going to think "Should I wait a week?" Were going to call you! That does not make us desprate!
I tend to give guys more of a chance when they are not into games. I don't have time for games and while youre waiting a week to call me I'm out meeting someone who wants me right now!

You should wait no longer than 3-4 days. Mainly because she might forget you by then (trust me, it happens), also you don't want to seem like a jerk, plus some other player could have already stepped up.
Women don't really care about rules, and unless they're way scandelous, they're gonna call you when evr they want to, same night, next day! We don't have to play games, we do what we want. So, no, she's not desperate, just confident.

2-3 days...a week is entirely too long. It's like you just wanted to prove a point by getting the number and you don't really have any interest in the girl/guy.

Girls might call sooner than guys because they don't care as much about the 3 day rule. That is usually how long I wait....but if I really like a girl, I might call sooner. It is all pretty stupid. Either way, she will go out with you again if she really likes you, if she doesn't, then you are done for anyways.

I think if you like the person then call within 2 days, waiting a week is too long.. it gives off that "im cool and I'm waiting" vibe that women don't care for, although we take it, we don't care for it. so I say 2 days.

I am sorry, but if someone waited a week to call me I would automatically think he's not interested....there are no rules...Just call her when you want to...I do not think she is desperate...just wanted to talk to you...that's all...
