Decency is something that honorable people cling to.

Is it asking too much to demand that the laws of the United States of America be adhered to by all who reside within her borders?

And is it asking too much to insist our elected officials fulfill their oath to protect and preserve our nation?

Why can't illegals understand that even animals have laws, rules, boundaries? And when these are not adhered to there are some pretty serious penalties.

I'm not so sure that our attempts are so feeble. It seems to me that Americans are now working very hard to preserve our beloved nation.

I hope that my life will be one of honor. I hope I will do my part in preserving the country I enjoyed as a child...for my own grandchildren.

Well, the government is remiss, big time! And of course laws should be followed, and if they had been, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in today!

We may or may not agree with certain laws, the govt may or may not want to change them ... but until new laws are put in place, the old ones should be followed!

Personally I think this whole nonsense about a comprehensive immigration reform is bunk .. we have perfectly adequate laws as it is, even including guest worker programs, so there's no problem there ... the problem is that existing laws are not enforced!

If our elected representatives can't, or won't, uphold the law they were taking an oath to uphold, they should be removed from office forthwith!

they have to fulfill their oath. Laws are just words, the power in them is the people. If we ignore the rules we set for ourselves then we head down a read of barbaicness. How ever if we obey our own rules, and the officials actually enforce them. Then the laws become more than words spat out by the few decent people in our society. The laws become ideas, they become the strength that seperates us from becomeing a nation of savages.

This and every nation suck. It is way too late to fix anything. The world will not be here anymore in the years to come because we are destroying it. Fulfilling an oath is not an option anymore, if it was we wouldn't be at war and the world wouldn't be in the place it is in.

the law was made for those who break it. sadly, because people misuse the law, more laws must be made. no it shouldnt be too much to ask that people abide by th law, though decency is something that indecent people dont know about. and sometimes people want something so bad that they break those laws to get it. our elected officials should be background checked extensively just like when we get jobs. they want to see what we will do morally, so should the political positions be checked the same way.

Laws without morals are in vain. Is it moral for businesses to hire illegal workers and then demand their government police the borders?

I guess it is just too much to ask. Remember that America has become overly nice-nice (democratic) so we can't ever hurt anyone's feelings, even those who can't speak our language. No no. We have to accept everybody, even if they're from a hostile country.
