I read to clarify your hair before coloring. what is the best way to do this?. Also isn't it true that you shouldn't wash your hair before coloring?

no you should never wash your hair within 24 hours of coloring it!!! This is why. When you wash your hair and scalp, it stimulates your scalp and causes the pores to open. If you put hair coloring on a stimulated and open pored scalp, IT BURNS LIKE FIRE!!!!! trust me.
If you need to clarify it, do it the day before you color. The easiest and cheapest way to do this is to add a small amount of baking soda to your shampoo in your hand. Then wash as usual.

I maybe completely wrong, but i was under the impression this meant to bleach your hair before you colored it.
