Is it ok to post a sticker like this by your front door, or would there be a problem if police ever came to your door?

And where would someone find a sticker like this, out of curiosity?

In the US, it's perfectly legal. I think those types of signs are fun, but I tend not to use them.

Now, the comment above that such a sign might tell criminals that there are guns worth stealing in your house whenever you're away has been proven to be true.

Let's assume you put up such signs. Let's say you like to talk about your guns, and how you'll gladly kill anyone who comes inside your house. Then let's say someone actually does. Let's say they threaten you, and you have no choice but to defend your life, and you shoot and kill him. A perfectly justifiable shoot, criminally speaking.

However:

The civil case might be different. The other guy's parents/whatever sue you, and their lawyer shows the jury your sign, and has everyone he can find that you've talked to testify about how you're "always talking about shooting the first person who comes in MY house"......

You see where it's going? The lawyer will try and paint you as a gun-happy vigilante who was just looking for a legal excuse to shoot, and will try and portray you as the bad guy.

Will it work? Maybe. Maybe not. But your boasting about shooting people and your sign has given the lawyer ammunition against you that he didn't need to have.

Keep your comments to yourself, and don't advertise your intentions. When you do, you give away your biggest advantage....surprise.

That kind of sticker is something to think about, but I would not take someones life over "stuff". I don't want that on my conscience that I killed someone over material stuff that can be replaced. Now if they were trying to hurt my family, that is a different story. I would think it would be okay to post a sticker like that by your door, I mean, it's your door and you are letting the crooks know right up front, if you come in my house, you might not leave alive.

I had a sticker on my door that read:
"Is there life after death?
Trespass here and find out!".
I later found out that the local people were all afraid to come near the place, so the sticker was quickly removed.

No, there isn't a problem with this sticker, you can post it on your door. My favorite is the one that says, "Protected by S&W" (Smith and Wesson).

I guess maybe the Nat'l Rifle Assn website or type in a general search of "gun stickers" or something like that is where you should find one.

Nice sign! A pawn shop in Texarkana has, painted on it's glass front window: "Shotgun guarded 3 nights a week. Pick your night." Problems with the police? Maybe. Do you have a gun? If so, you need to register it, get a permit, learn to use it. And don't answer the door with it in your hand till you know who's out there! Where to get it? Well, you have a computer...make a sign, have it laminated, bob's yer uncle!

Those stickers are OK to post and yet they might get you dead if the wrong person decides to try you out. You can purchase them at most novelty shops and even Wal Mart carries some.

Perception is reality. A threatening sign like that appears to warn wrong-doers that their actions will be opposed. Whether the "threat" would actually be carried out is besides the point. The point of the sign is to keep miscreants from attempting to do wrong.
Since the sign is clearly targeted towards criminals an officer of the law should not be threatened by it.

There's no law against posting it. The cops should not have a problem, either - gun ownership is legal. I doubt that a criminal would post such a sign.

You can buy anything on the internet.

There are also "gun free zone" stickers. But I would NOT advise posting those . . .
