I have not yet decided but I think I am going to have a light supper of eggs then cheeses with non-butter croissants, and I am thinking to open a California pinot noir, some secondary or tertiary brand (I forget the name; I'm not at my home computer) which I picked up at a Trader Joe's the last time I was there a few years ago. (Do you ever ferry to Washington State and shop at a Trader Joe's, or perhaps at Trader Joe's' in other states of the US you may visit?)

What are you serving it with? I like viognier because it smells sweet but tastes dry -- it's great with Chinese food, with delicate seafood like scallops and lobster, and also a pleasant drink on its own before dinner.
I like gewurztraminer because it typicall has enough sweetness to stand up to curry, Thai food, or other spicy Asian dishes but isn't a dessert wine; again, it's got a light floral aroma that makes me think of jasmine tea, but a good acid balance that makes it nice with food. I've also served gewurztraminer with choucroute a l'Alsacienne (I prefer to use fresh sauerkraut, but if that's not available I rinse it in a colander and then use wine or sometimes apple cider to steam it with the smoked meats), and it's great with a country-style smoked ham, dense and not too sweet.
So that may or may not help you decide, but it probably made you hungry. :-) Given your user name, you might enjoy knowing that the last wine I had was a Wolf Blass Yellow Label 2003 shiraz, which we drank with well-seasoned ribeye steaks cooked medium rare. Mmmmmmm....
Bon appetit!

I DON'T WANT TO WORK, I WANT TO SIT AT HOME AND WATCH OLD MEL BROOKS MOVIES!!! Oh, sorry, you said "wine," not "whine." My vote would be for the Lucien Albrecht Gewurztraminer.

Either is OK. Both are good wine. Choose one and keep the other for another time when we meet again.
