Gracie is a perfectly good name, if you plan on giving birth to an 85 year old woman.

Don't take the opinions of a bunch of strangers on the internet to heart. My 7 year old niece is named Elizabeth Grace and goes by Grace or Gracie. It is a perfectly fine name, pretty and feminine. Grace is becoming a more popular name, however. Our youngest daughter's name is Lydea, a more uncommon spelling of Lydia. You and your spouse need to make the decision on what to name your daughter regardless of the opinions of anyone else. Just remember when going unique that she will have to live with the name you give her beyond when she is a cute little baby.

Grace with nickname Gracie is a fine name. I would suggest you try another website that will give you better feedback on your name choices. Unique names that aren't trendy and that will be a good name for your daughter for the rest of her life.

I love Sophia Grace as a name.
Have you read Who Comes With Cannons? (Junior Reader about civil war) The heroine is a little girl named Tabitha Ruth and they called her Truth. I like that.
I worked with children in the 6th grade and there was a girl named Taylor Rose and everyone called her Tea Rose.

Andrea or Colleen are nice, but if you're trying to choose between Grace or Gracie, I like Grace better, 'cuz then she can go by both! Good luck and congrats on your baby girl!

If you like the names Grace or Gracie then use one of them. Its your child your naming, it shouldnt be based on what others think about the name.

Grace is a beautiful name. Just make sure the initials don't spell anything you wouldn't want. (A friend wanted to name their child Andrew Shawn, but when they put it with their last name that began with an 's'....) No matter what you name her, she will hate her name at some point in junior high, and like it just fine when she becomes a woman. Or not. Give her a good middle name, too!
My girls are Allison Paige and Leah Mckenzie, but I also like Lauren, Madison, Tenley, Isabelle. .
And I wanted to be either Tisha or Tasha when I was younger =)

Try the "stripper/senator" test on any name you think of. Which blank does the name fill more comfortably?
"Now appearing nightly, the sensuous __________!" or
"A major overhaul in government that will save the state millions has just been announced by senator _____________."
Do your child a favor and read the blog, "Baby's named a bad, bad, thing" at http://www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames and the bulletin boards there, too. They'll help you choose a name that will NOT get your daughter ridiculed for the rest of her life.

How about Gracia (pronounced gray see uh). I take it you like older names like that and thats good because they are definetely back in style. With Gracia, its still like Grace but it has a fresh young spin on an old name.I named my daughter Ruby 7 years ago. I also like the name Jerry or Jerri for a girl.
