If you go to NADA.com you can find out a cars estimated value by using the year, make and model and mileage. This is an estimated value used by Dealers and you don' need the VIN #. You can run a vehicle history using the VIN # at CARFAX.com. nThis will give you a detailed history of the vehicle, origional sa;es date , number of owners , accidents, etc. There may be a fee to use this service. NADA is free.

there is a book that car dealers go by to see the value of a car . Go to your nearest used car dealer and ask him to look it up for you.
