i agree, there are some girls at work who just HAVE to twine about other peole wether that's out of jealousy or what i don't know...does my head in tho, they're soooo competetive women. i agree mate.

Look up the definition of vain, more men than women are vain. Women might be more self conscious about the way they look, but that's because unlike other animal species its the human female that has to be attractive to attract the shallow human male! How many powerful men have unattractive women?

Some people are vain because they believe their own publicity, but in general I think its simply a case that most woman take pride in their appearance and have standards and values.
However, Sarkyasti... 's point is double edged... how many "beautiful" women are interested in men without power or money?
I have lived with women both considered "beautiful" and "ugly" and I can tell you that the "beauties" were interested in my money, and the "ugly" ones were interested in me as a person, and being mutually nice.
Beauty is definately in the eye of the beholder because some of it's generated from the inside, and the personality... my girlfriend is rare in that she is beautiful in both ways, and I am very lucky to be with her.

Depends how you define vain. True that women are often judged according to their looks so they obviously focus more on them. On the other hand, my guyfriends are far more concerned with their 'amazing' pulling power and sexual ability than my girlfriends - if that's not vain i don't know what is!

it's really about the hormones. women can be so sweet at times, and flares up in an instant. and take even more care, don't get close or say something funny to women prior to their monthly visit, at least a week before their menstruation. u can talk with them normally during their periods....

I think women need to feel like they look good so they won't be left on the shelve so to speak. I am not personally vain but i like to look good for myself and family e.t.c my motto is take me as i am or don't bother it has worked for me.
