Not to be rude, but....
Why do you guys post questions that are so simple?
Why take the time to ask on here, when you can just search Google or Yahoo and get a better answer in half the time?
Are people really that lazy these days?
So far, I've posted one question.
ONLY one.
And it wasn't even a real question.
It was only for fun.
If I ever have a question, I just search for it.
Why does it seem that nobody else does?
And, why are 90% all of these questions nothing but pure common sense?
This question fits for any category.
I'm not picking on anyone specific.
I would just like to understand why nobody bothers to search the internet anymore. O_o

After reading some of your answers, I would like to point out that I DO realize that this question, my own, IS in fact a "stupid question."
Some of you made comments about me searching google for the answer, after what I said.
The reason I didn't search google for the answer to my question, is because the only people who would be able to answer, is the people who use this site.
Since I asked you guys, that is.
I wouldn't be able to find the answer to this question anywhere else, really.
It's not the same as asking "everyone in my family has curly hair. Why do I have curly hair?"
or "I weigh 300 pounds. I don't want to exercise or go on a diet. How can I lose weight?"
or "Is my boyfriend cheating on me? I saw him kissing another girl."
Or when people ask questions and don't put details. Such as one I saw earlier, which read "Am I getting bad grades?" with no details or anything. Just that one question. And another that said "Do I have acne?" With nothing else written.

I totally understand your thinking as I have thought the same. I guess that some people don't understand how to use keywords in a Search. Some ask just for the social interaction. Some are just lazy. Some have no common sense. Common sense isn't so common anymore. Others just want someone to agree with them. Others are so ignorant that they don't even pick the best answer as their best answer, but someone who backs up their own narrow view or makes a funny remark. It's all entertainment to some. For others this is a tool that they use because they don't have any other way to get an answer or do research. Not all answerers and questioners are adults obviously, so we have to give the younger ones some slack.

Well, info is easy to come by, but opinions are not. Besides, this is more interesting, in that you get several people's answers to a question and get to choose which one you want, and the spelling is so creative it's actually fun to look at! And watch the generalizations: "nobody" bothers to search? A lot of us search the answers before we give them. Maybe we have more time to look through the 100s of answers Google or whatever gives? And finally, I agree, some of the questions are so goofy I can't believe the person typing them doesn't just go 'duh!'! Nice poetical form there, though! :-)

I believe it is the human element. Just as people learn either by auditory, visual or tactical input, an individual may be more receptive to another person answering their question verses a lifeless search engine.
Also, many times there simple is no one correct answer to a question. The answer may lie in the areas of grey that can only be revealed through multiple opinions.

You shouldn't assume you know what motivates people to ask their Qs.
Some people ask questions that only seem simple to you, but are either not so simple to the asker, or only appear simple at first glance. I do this a lot.
Some people ask questions where they know the answer, and are playing quiz-show host on YA. I do this a lot.
Some people ask questions with simple answers, because they are looking for people who can think beyond the obvious. I do this a lot.
And yes - some people are just plain lazy, or ignorant of how to use other resources. This isn't me.

Because that's why yahoo answers is on the internet- it it's self is a way of searching the internet for answers- true it may be less reliable than google- but maybe people want the different responces from actual people- so they have choices- people like choices

sorry, you're expecting this site to be what it is promoted as, a form for information exchange. that got worn out quickly for popular culture. mostly people moved on or turned to the game aspect of the site. you get points. others push the chat aspect.
what you describe is the chat opportunity gone haywire. it's not real chat no matter how you work it, but it's amazing how much traffic you find for "is my avatar pretty?" aside from that type you could indeed type many of the questions right into google or yahoo and get 300 hits in 15 seconds, but then where is the social interaction in that?

I hear you and agree with you.
I have only asked two serious questions, and both were to solicit people's opinions, one on a vacation destination, and the other on an electronic gadget purchase.
I frequently tell people what I google'd to find the website with the answer that I give. But yes, many people are too lazy to look for an answer themselves.

want i want to know is why people like you ask stupid questions like yours? PLEASE READ.INTERESTING QUESTION? that was meaningless. i don't you just use your way and leave the ones that find yahoo answers a simple and cool way to see other people views. why get a few websites about all this meaningless searching for an answer that can be explained right in your face. read by people made for you. i cant believe i answered your question. maybe it wasn't meaningless at all. maybe none of the questions stated are meaningless. if you don't like my answer try searching google or yahoo Internet for an answer see what u come up with.

The answer to that love is extremely simple. People are LAZY. Why go to google or yahoo if they can get some smuck to answer the question for them.

Laziness? It is easier to go to one place and passively sit there an receive answers, then to actually go out and do an active search.
