Yes, it can help. However, being on birth control can also cause headaches. It's all trial and error. People with migraines are usually encouraged not to take or use hormone based birth control. Check with your doctor.

That sounds pretty strange to me bcuz as far as I know, that is not true. The leaflet in the boxes normally state that migraine/headache is a side effect. I am not a doc.........yet, however, I suffer from terrible migraines and I have tried a few contraceptives on the market and they all give me headaches.

Hey there, would you trust a friend of yours? I'd ask your doctor. I suffer from chronic migrane and tension migrane (2 different & serious conditions). My doctor has me taking topomax which is a prescription drug and it is working wonderfully. I've only had a few headaches since i've started taking them last week. He also has me on Imotrex for my really big ones but thankfully I haven't had to use that one yet. On a side note, quit using Excedrin Migrane...makes you gain weight...that is what my neurosurgeon said...never realized that.

depends on the person i guess. there are all sorts of triggers which can lead to migranes. some peoples triggers are certain foods like cheese or chocolate. or some people can get them from things like changes in the weather. i suffer from migranes and have been on the pill and the pill injection and none of them helped with mine.

if the migraines are hormonal, then yes. My headaches stopped when I stopped consuming caffeine.
