I listened to a podcast (of a MA. Christian radio show) recently hosted by a guy who has been in a ministry for 16 years talking to a young pastor involved in the new, upcoming XXXChurch.

The radio show guy disliked the fact that these pastors of the XXXChurch going into porno conventions and handing out Bibles because Christians shouldn't be exposed to that stuff (one caller said that they can't be a "church" if people don't follow up). Another caller said he was actually promoting the porn industry. The radio host suggested that they stand outside the entrance and hand out Bibles that way.

The guy from XXXChurch said that there is no place that Christ can't go into to save people. He wanted a way to reach others for Christ without being judgemental (as well as having a captive audience).

So what do you, as Christians, think about this? Do you applaud XXXChurch or find it to be foolish? Non-Christians can say stuff, too.

By the way, the website is xxxchurch.com.

For those who don't know it, XXXChurch is a ministry that caters to those with sexual and pornographic addictions or those into adult entertainment stuff.

The Bibles they hand out have "Jesus loves pornstars" written on it.

The guy in the interview made it clear that he wasn't there to judge, hate, or anything. He was there to help people get out of porn.

In my opinion, I can see it both ways. If they're there to help, then that's cool. However, it does seem foolish for pastors to go into a porno convention to help save lost souls.

There's a saying that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

We are sanctified (Set apart) in Christ. and we are to be "In the world but not of the world."

Standing outside the door seems more appropriate as it would be far too easy for the unbeliever to dismiss their intentions and suggest that they are simply using the name of Christ to "Sneak a peak" for themselves. What a horrific representation of our Heavenly Savior!

It would be a far better example for the believer in Christ to stand OUTSIDE and wait and serve the people there.

Additional Thoughts:

Even their name, the "XXXCHURCH" has such an evil ring to it. What on earth would an unbeliever think if they were to see this? That it is simply a group of people who woship pornography?

Their title doesn't even seem to be led by the Holy Spirit, therefore I can't believe their actions are being led either. Though their intentions may be noble and their ideas may seem ok in the eyes of some men, I don't think their approach is Biblically sound at all.

I don't know about the idea of going "into" such places. But I do believe someone has to reach out to those in this industry. What I do appreciate however, is much of the material and support they provide to Christian men who are battling with pornography. This is a vice that has not been effectively addressed for some time now. I hope their evangelistic efforts go well, but I have heard several testimonies of men who are greatful for the way the have been helped in their struggle. I certainly applaud them in this aspect. God Bless You.

When Paul went to Corinth, he was basicly going to a porn convention of sorts. Ancient Corinth was a pleasure resort of the Roman empire and ther was no lack of advertising. So yes, there is nowhere where Jesus will not go. He call people OUT of the mess that the world or they have gotten into and He is able to bring about the changed lives to prove it.

I think it is wrong going into a porn convention. They could have handed them Bibles as they were coming out.

I actually don't see it as a problem. It's like if they were to go into bars, and as long as they didn't make pests of themselves, I see no reason they shouldn't go where they feel the need is.

HOWEVER, they need to stay away from religious groups, be it Jews, Muslims, Wiccans or whatever.

Jesus did go into the homes of taxpayers and sat and ate with prostitutes and others who were not respected in the community. So who's to say.

More wierdos cashing on on God's name.

They'd be better off spending their time feeding the homeless and helping people than trying to interfere with people who obviously aren't interested. Leave a pile of leaflets if they like, or hire a stand.

They sound like Christian "we're only here because we hate you" Voice.

Oh, and I am a Christian.
