Will housing or transportation move us back up to Fort Drum if my husband is still deployed?

It depends. Did you move away from the post he's assigned to?? Did they move you to a new duty station and he deployed and now you want to go back to where you were?? It's hard without knowing all the details.

However, generally and easily, if he's on orders for Ft. Drum and it says he's authorized to move the family, then yes, the military will pack and move you. However, if you moved someplace on your own, no, they won't move you back to Ft. Drum or wherever you're assigned. You'd have to do that on your own.

If your husband is stationed at Drum, and is deployed, and you moved elsewhere for the duration, it is entirely on your own dime to move back there before he returns. Also, the military will only transport you from Drum to the next duty station.

If your husband got orders to Drum and he deployed before you could utilize the authorized move, it depends. You are allowed a move at Gov't expense, but if you chose to stay put and not go with him to Drum, you may be out of luck. there may be a time limit as to how long you have to utilize the move at Gov't expense.

Without more specific information, we can't accurately answer the question. your best bet is to speak to TMO and see what their answer is.

The military will only fund a move if the servicemember has orders to relocate to an area. The only exception occurs when you do not have base housing available. Once housing is available, they will pay to move you again onto base housing. If you left the base during your husband's deployment and you are returning to the base, you have to pay for it yourself. Contact Fort Drum's transportation office, they would be best able to answer your question. Good luck to you and your family.

No, you will be responsible for the move. If he's going to be gone a really long time (more than a year I would guess), then there is a possiblity. Have your hubby look into it, but I doubt it.

if that is where your husband's home of record is or port of entry. however if you want to return to your base, you will have to move yourself back and reapply for housing again.

Probably not with out him signing off for it! They would probably look at it as a risk, for transpoting a family with out orders.

It would have to be authorized by his mobilization orders, but if it is, then yes.
