I'm a fundamentalist Christian. I've found that Jehovah's Witnesses are always respectful in every circumstance. I fully agree with some things they say, examples: Love and discipline your kids, don't buy bunches of junk for the Christmas holidays, love your wife and make her happy. But some of their stuff seems off the wall, examples: No blood during surgery, never serve any government, never go to war over any issue. I hope this helped answer your question.

If we're talking someone here, then as an atheist I also pick DebraM. She gets a lot of votes in these things - I hope others come to see her as a role model.
If we're allowed to pick people not on Y!A, I pick a colleague who teaches religious studies, and recently published his life's work, a piece on the sources used in the Gospels. I was honored to be included in the ceremonies (I'd helped him with some of the technical aspects), even though I disagree with the subject matter.
I do think that this is an excellent question, and to people who can't come up with an answer, I suggest that you stick with it. EVERYONE should be able to come up with an example of this, and if you really can't, you can be certain that the problem is in yourself.

Thanks for selecting me! I try to be respectful, I admit sometimes I say something that offends people, but anything like that is meant to be taken lightly as a joke, not as a meanspirited jab at your religion.
It seems that the respectful people leave quicker. Debra M, who is Catholic, is probably one of the nicest people from any of the religions to grace the R+S board, but she has left many times because she got so fed up with all the ignorant things people say on here.

My best friend from my Senior year, who I am still in contact with, is a Christian. My old foster family is devout Christians. I still stay in contact with them a little bit.
BTW, I'm Deist with Buddhist leanings.
I think I see what you're doing here... With all the conflict between Christians and non-Christians, you are trying to get us to see that it just doesn't have to be that way. That we CAN be respectful to each other. Am I right?

Of course I can name lots and lots of Christians who are respectful to me, and also very highly respected by me.
My first friend (who is still my friend) is a very devoted Catholic. One of the politicians I respect most in my country (Argentina) is a practising Catholic. One of the best teachers I've ever had is a Catholic. My mother is a Christian, though she doesn't go to church anymore...
In case it wasn't clear. I'm an unbeliever.

I have posted many questions regarding atheist (me being one) thoughts and answers to people who are not atheists. I was very pleasantly surprised at the civility and respect that is displayed in this category(for the most part) from people of many varied beliefs,

I'm drawing a blank for a Christian here on YA. I really have not gotten to know any here. Most of them have been too busy telling me I serve the powers of darkness.
I have several in my life in the really real world. My wife for one.

I see where this is headed and I think we all should show others respect regardless of religious preferences and if we don't agree we should simply respect their views and be tolerant of them. I am an atheist.
