We went to the vital statistics and asked and were told no, however, when we first spoke to other veterans at an earlier time, they told us that it was possible. We have since been told otherwise. Can you please help?

You pay for that stuff like everybody else. Only your military ID is free.

Our daughter was born in a military hospital and we even had to pay for her birth certificate. The military birth certificate is free, except it's not recognized by school districts and such. So, you have to apply to get a copy from the state you were born in and it's not free.
I don't know about ID cards. I know as active duty, they're free and they will be when he retires in a couple years. Best way to find out for sure is to call the ID section at the nearest military installation.

Veterans are not entitled to a Military ID unless they are retired(medically or otherwise)
Birth certificates are not under military jurisdiction. they come from whatever state that you were born in, and therefore that state's lregs apply.
I was born in a military hospital, but like someone else said.. it is NOT a valid birth certificate.. it is a record of birth and is not a legal document.

As for birth certs, you must pay for your own. Just call it's maybe 60 bucks including all processing and 2-day postage.
As for ID's, I've been retired for over 16 years and had mine for almost as long. My dependents as well. Free from the ID section of the nearest military base, force regardless.

Forget it, get the birth cert. from the state you were born in and the military ID is for active not veterans, unless you had more than 15 years in.

Get your birth certificate from the state and you're only authorized a military I.D. if you are active, dependent of active duty, retired or if you were honorably distarged and you still recieve benifits. That's it.

What contained in the hell are you speaking about? like you I have a valid beginning certificate, a drivers license, a military id and a passport, you only choose one suitable one to vote in my state, even a hid carry allow is authorized.

you can get the militray ID free of charge just got mine Ret/US Marine Semper Fi do or Die and you NOT need to be retired just Honorably discharged
