I usually peel off the skin when eating fruits like apples, pears, peaches etc, however, someone recently told me that most of the vitamin content of fruits is genrally in the skin, so by peeling off and discarding the skin of these fruits I am not getting the full nutritianal value.

Does ayone know if this is true?

Thanks

yes it is. most of the vitamins are the in the peel. and once the fruit is taken away from the plant it starts losing its vitamisn slowly. the seeds also have a lot of nutrients, like grapes for example the seeds have anti oxidants....
and again most of the vitamins are stored in the peel

Yes I've read that the vitamins are mostly just under the skin of the fruit and the skins are good fibre too.

Take the orange for example. Do you get nutrients from the "skin"? I think the most nutritious part of a fruit is where the fibre is found.

Yes it is true the vitamins are all in the peel and the peel holds the viamins in..If you peel them off your not getting all the vitamins you need out that fruit

more fibre and vitamins in the peel! Also, the seeds of some fruits are really beneficial too (like watermelon)

The most nutritious part is just under the skin. The skin is also supposed to give you the roughage needed in your diet. I even eat the skin on the Kiwi fruit........

everyone is going to say the skin, but i'm pretty sure thats just the part with the most fibre, not vitamins.
