Well, my finacee surprised me with a ring a few months back and there was no pressure.
I can only imagine that some women pressure boyfriend to do this because they're afraid of not being loved, of being alone, not finding the right one, and being cheated on and/or left.

I guess at a certain point the women felt that this relationship isn't moving and felt the partner of theirs isn't taking another step to marriage... So I think they felt that if they tell you or pressure you you will take a step into marriage.. Not all women are like this...
