I would recommend two places: George Keeley's on 83rd and Amsterdam because they have a very large, frequently rotating selection of international beers on tap, and they have a special cooling system for the lines from the kegs so the beer is always super cold. They also have a rotating selection of real cask ales.
The second place is Stouts on 33rd st between 6th and 7th. I think that's where it is - it's round about that area. One of the biggest beer selections I've seen in NY, beautiful, large space, great food. Little pricey and the crowd is predominantly tourists and happy hour, but great, great beer.
