I took the liberty of propping Your post up a bit, hope You don't mind.

Why do people take offense when I call them idiots?

Shouldn't they know I am just trying to get them angry? So they will tell me what they really think. Shouldn't they know I am not actually calling them idiots, that there are different ways people communicate and that they should bow down to my greatness? Haha. Also; why is it that there are always some persons who will only tell that I haven't put the question in a proper manner and am spelling something wrong? Am I to bow down to their greatness when it is the question that matters, not my way of asking? I love each and every one of You in the spirit of God. What is your opinion? Am I too weird in my question and my way of asking it? I am alone and don't have a method of getting feedback from folks. Thank you. I hope you have a great day.

First off, it is unkind to call someone a bad name. Second off, it is judgmental. You have no right to do that. Some people are very intelligent and some arent. No one asks to be born slow. Many people have not had proper training to know how to think and act.
Something to ponder on. If you are calling people idiots, and that hurts them, how smart are you? You should be smart enuff to know that no one has the right to hurt someone else. A not so nice person would refer to you as an idiot. But, I wont. I just say you werent taught any better. May God open your eyes today.

Hmmm....engaging in cruelty yet expecting it not to be perceived as cruelty seems the same as punching someone in the nose and telling them it was a joke. They're still bleeding, and you're still responsible.

And by the way....people don't tell you what they really think when they're angry. They are defensive, and they'll tell you what will protect them. To keep the dialogue going, keep the calm, rational component of the brain engaged. That's where problems are solved. The defensive part is the part that doesn't care what harm it causes, so long as it survives.

Calling a person an idiot is the most ineffective way to make him react, unless you're very close to them. If you call me an idiot, I'm closing my mind to anything you may say after that to me. As a teacher, that's the most anti-pedagogical technique I can think of. What if I said to my students: "It's 'I said', not 'I sayed', you idiot"? What would you do if you were my student?

Wisdom would not start a conversation with family or friends by calling them idiots or their conversation idiotic. On the contrary, it is insulting and builds up walls between people.

You IDIOT! Don't you understand that when you call someone else an idiot, you are saying that the don't have the mental ability to know ANYTHING? You are SAYING that they are incapable of communication. Whether you love them or not, your use of the word demonstrates your unwillingness to acknowledge them or their beliefs.

So how did it feel?
