This person is probably the kind of person that doesn't know that they are being that way. Let it go, and if it happens again talk to them about it. Let them know that you don't want anything to affect the way you work together, but you don't feel that you deserve the treatment you are getting. Good luck and don't let the man get you down!

I handle all the rudeness the same.
I look the rude person square in the eyes, i open my arms and say : DOES SOMEONE NEED A HUG TODAY !?
This usually catches the grump off guard to which they ususally run away. thus : eliminating the grump/rudeness from MY area !
As they run away they have time to think of the pissass attitude they have been showing others and it usually goes away or THEY go away !
...and as for the outfit remark... I do not dress for others so I would probably add to my hug comment as they ran away, but still in ear shot, this : "When you start buying my clothes is when you comments will be accepted, thanks have a great day "!
Works for me !!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah nothing quite like sarcasm !!! : )

I usually say, "Well I like it and thats all that matters" its not a rude comeback but at the same time its a strong one to let the person know that there comment was not needed (and I am pretty sure it will make them think next time they are rude to someone)

Calmly of course, I don't have time for ignorance. And people who are rude are usually ignorant and really don't have a self esteem or anything better to do and are only looking for a reaction. I wont accommodate them. Some things are just not worth a reaction.

My reaction to rudeness is overblown politeness with sarcasm. If someone commented on my clothes, I would make them feel one inch tall by countering with my scathing wit. I would probably say something demeaning about my clothes myself, making the other person feel really bad about having said anything at all. Cleverness and manipulation are the best revenge!

I would say "why thank you very much how nice of you to notice, I put it on especially for you to comment on as I know that you really have nothing better to do with your life" then I would smile, walk away and get on with my work putting the incident to the back of my mind because they really are not worth it. Life if too short to let sad individuals makes us feel bad.

Its best for me to ignore the comment..what good will it do to get mad and say rude things?? I will be the better person and let the stupid comment go by without uttering a word.....
But in my mind i will be furious for a while...only in my mind though..

I am still shocked at rudeness, no matter how common it has become. I don't mind just looking at someone who has been rude to me, and turning to walk away--in silence. He or she can just stay there and be alone and uncomfortable with their rudeness. I guess that is rude of me, isn't it?

I think rudeness does have it's place because some people don't or won't get the hint unless you are rude to them. On the other hand, to answer your question - tell them that they smell like shitt !

I would be very hurt, but would try not to show it. Try not to repay rudeness with more rudeness. Show the other person that you are better than that. Just say, "I am sorry you don't like it," then move on.
