To keep your teeth clean, use a toothpaste that doesn't advertise that it contains whiteners. These toothpastes might make your teeth look slightly whiter, until you eat something. These toothpastes contain abrasives that actually can damage the teeth if used excessively. If you have staining, the best thing to do is get a dentist to polish your teeth. To whiten them, I haven't tried pharmacy whiteners but you can go get a set of trays made at the dentist and buy refills of whitening gel whenever you feel the need. They work great. For everyday cleaning, just use a regular toothpaste.

Hi ..Ive just recently got this treatment called Zoom! and it cost around 500.00 to 700.00 a treatment only need one per two years. Toothpaste CANNOT whiten your teeth! No more than regular toothpaste from the 99 cents store. Spend that extra money to get them whitened or veneered. Toothpaste just removes surface stains and doesnt whiten teeth this coming from my cosmetic dentist.

A dentist once told me "Any brand you use properly and daily will give you a healthy looking smile."

Many dentists have told me to make my own - using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide... However, many years ago Mentadent was born - it had the two key ingredients and well, let's say my dental hygenist loves my smile and compliments me at every cleaning. (Oral-B by Braun helps too!)

When I have been on the road and can't find Mentadent - my backup has always been Arm & Hammer.

Baking Soda & Hydrogen Peroxide are amazing when used properly - daily - and frequently.

My favorite is Crest with baking soda and peroxide. Or you could try the whitening strips, but they are costly.
