The odd ages longevity in Bible can be easily explained. First lets look at it from a faith standpoint. How long is a year to God? God is in Heaven and Sun is not factor in time for God. A year may be quite different for God and since faith tells us God wrote Bible there is no way to truly tell! Now lets make a more logical approach to Biblical ages. At time of Bible writing our current calander did not exist. Time was told by moon or seasons. If time was measure by seasons which is possible then four separate measurements could be used per our calender year thus a 500 year old man would be 25 a reasonable age since 45 by our measurements would be very old back then. Season dont wash then what about Moon. the moon was used for navigation etc a full cycle of Moon a year perhaps? Or even a mistranslation that no one caught or knew of? This means a 500 year old by our standards would be 41! a very old age back in Biblical times! We have no clue what a year was then because our standard did not exist as said so what was a year? We dont know but based on my caculations this would fit and we do know that seasons and Moon were used for time and navigation this inlcuded stars as well. so I would say if Adam lived to 500 he died around his 40's. You could apply this to other characters as well but in each case we know not what the author thought was a year! If you apply simple math you will find that these Biblical figures lived a full life span for that time period and not some absurd number.

No, if you are just looking for a biblical answer, there are two times that the age of people were lowered. Before those times most people lived to be about the same age. If you look at the line of the Seed in Genesis you will see many people who lived longer than Adam and Abel or Seth. God dramatically lowered the age limit of people twice in the Old Testament so its not a gradual degredation, but something sudden that happened divinely. Thats the biblical explanation.

What it means is that the story is fiction. It is biologically impossible for persons to live for more than about 120 years; this arises for technical reasons that are too long to explain here.

humans don't evolve , God created us, there is proof open your eyes and see that everything couldn't come from nothing and by accident.
