Like Allah, for example. Don't we are all worship the same God, but with different names and in different ways? Then why is there so much fighting in this world? Can't we just accept each others beliefs, or not beliefs, and respect each other?

I am not judging who is correct and who is not correct. I only have a problem with people who cannot accept that is is ok to believe whatever you feel. No one is going to hell.

I should have known that I would get answers proclaiming that the bible is the only way. You miss the point of the question! Why can you not accept and not judge?

So are you saying all are correct or no one is correct? Please, clarify.
[edit] So when you blasted Jerry Falwell yesterday, it was or was not consistent with what you posit here about acceptance? Do some people get it and others not?

God is the GREAT I AM. There is none like Him and Yes He is a Jealous God.
I believe that if you are a true follower of God then you already know there is no other God except that. As Christians we are taught to not judge another person on his or her belief, but we are also taught to spread the word of the one and true God.
Those who choose to believe in Allah are not a bad people or wrong for what they believe is right. it is wrong for judging them and whoever else who don't believe what we do. Although I dont perceive all the fighting in the world to be over beliefs. what i do believe is, that the interpretation of what one believes is more appropriate.
I also Admit that it's very hard to respect ones beliefs when someone justifies mercy killings or suicide bombings as "Allah" told me to do this" or God has spoken to me and told me to do this in the name of Him. (not taking shots at anyone just using examples)
I am one who believes the Bible, believing in Jesus, being baptized in the name of the Father, and Knowing there is One God and one God only is the way to enternal life. but I will not judge you if you don't believe that and I will not force you to change your beliefs, But I will hope that Christ will be able to put the words in my mouth so that i may speak to you and your heart in hopes that you will See Christ is the only and answer and there is only one GOD, The Great I AM. !
Thanks for taking the time to review my answer and this is a very good question thats open for discussion

You have a good point about the universality of spirituality and why we all be more tolerant of those who call their higher power by a different name. However, you miss the point as to why religious wars actually start. The surface reason is always proclaimed to be religion, but that is just the ideological rhetoric at work. The real reason wars always start is political. Religious institutions are INSTITUTIONS, and all institutions operate on the basis of politics. It's all about the profits...and I'm not talking Elijah! If Islam starts to convert Christians in large numbers, who's going to be plunking down the big bucks in Pat Robertson's bank account? After all, he probably has twenty mansions and a number of country club memberships to pay off. By the same token, Islam or any other religion in competition with the dominant religion in this country, Christianity, hereafter to be known as Christianofascism, is going to have to counterattack to try and get folks to see the "wisdom" of shelling out their hard-earned drachmas into Muslim organizations.
The people in the streets may believe the call to jihad and believe that the war, whichever religious war it is, is all about religion. But those in power who actually profit from religious institutions, they know what time it is...and it's time to show them the money! And, that is the real reason that holy wars get started.

Everything God has chosen to reveal about himself indicates that he is very particular about things like truth and justice.
To equate the one, true God, and his very specific provisions for mankind with the beliefs and theories of ordinary men does a disservice to God and man.
Respect should be given to all human beings, but not all human beliefs are truthful, beneficial, or worthy of respect.
Some beliefs are patently evil, and must be condemned.
At the moment, it is not completely clear as to whether the god the Muslims worship is the same God that Christians and Jews worship.
Still, there must be respect.

You are right. The problem arises when people reject each other's religions. For example Christians do not accept that we Muslims believe in the same God as them - Christians.
On the other hand, we muslims do not accept the divinity of Jesus (peace be upon him). We accept him as our messenger who was born miraculously from a virgin mother Mary. But he was not god in any way. In Islam Holy Spirit also refers to Angel Gabriel, but Christians believe that he is god as well.
Those are the differences. They may seem not a big deal but believing in the creations of Allah and not to Allah Himself is the greatest sin in Islam. So we Muslims reject the Tritnity concept and the Bible, but we respect Christianity and all the other religions and their followers. Because in Islam God says let them believe in their gods and you believe in God. Thanks.

God has many names and every one has to do with a different aspect of Him. Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Jehovah Jirah, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Rapha, I could go on.
Cant we just accept each others beliefs, or non beliefs, and respect each other?
No. If you do not believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God as your personal Lord and Savior, then you are in a false religion that will lead you to an eternity in Hell. Unless you repent and accept Jesus.

I definitely think that everything would go more smoothly if people would quit being so self-righteous about their beliefs, going around acting like they have all the answers and they are right. If people would just be a little more open minded and consider the fact that (gasp!) they just might not be completely right on some things, there would be less fighting.
