I have a model type girlfriend, a job where I work four hours a day and more than enough money to get by. I own everything that I want yet I am still not happy. I just can't understand why? What do you think?

I guess I just feel a little lost as I have nothing to aim for anymore. Any ideas?

Sorry. I'm probably sounding spoilt here.

I understand why.

Just see the changeable nature of life. Nothing... NOTHING... is permanent.

Kings have a kingdom and are not happy. Those who lost everything are indeed happy. Why is this?

There's nothing to take seriously, you can laugh at life. Everything you have is soon no more.

You are not sounding spoilt, I think we all go throuigh these stages in our lives. We are put on this Earth to do great things for our Lord God and His Son, Jesus Christ. You have to sincerely ask Him into your life and the Holy Spirit will actually reveal the whole meaning of life to you, You will be given wisdom, as well as understanding of God's Holy Word, in The Bible.

People would rather believe in little green men from Mars, than from the Christ who died on Calvary to Save us all from our sins and lead us into an Eternal Life with God when our life on Earth is over. We were not created for no reason at all, nothing ever came from nothing and nothing ever did. The greatest scientific minds in this world cannot yet explain why "A Black Cow that eats Green Grass, produces White Milk, that makes Yellow Butter!"........You really have to get out more, and hopefully find a good Christian Fellowship where you can Worship and there are many who will be only too glad to tell you about the reality of Christ in your life.....Never knock a thing until you try it....and this is the real thing.

Believe me, this will bring you happiness beyond belief.

One day all that you have now may be gone, so remember that! We live in a world that provokes us to want more and more. It does seem that people who start off with nothing (ie from a poor family) who achive all the materialistic riches (eg a great house etc.) are very happy. However people like that usually have a loving family and choose their friends carefully.

So in short material wealth is a very shallow part of what makes one happy.

Try yoga, I learnt about it recently, apparently part of the activity is about being happy with what you have got and reduces the desire for more material wealth. Hope this helps.

Now that the nights are drawing in do you think you might have the winter blues.
The symptoms of SAD usually recur regularly each Winter, starting between September and November and continuing until March or April. A diagnosis can be made after three or more consecutive Winters of symptoms, which include a number of the following

Sleep problems: Usually desire to oversleep and difficulty staying awake but, in some cases, disturbed sleep and early morning wakening
Lethargy: Feeling of fatigue and inability to carry out normal routine
Overeating: Craving for carbohydrates and sweet foods, usually resulting in weight gain
Depression: Feelings of misery, guilt and loss of self-esteem, sometimes hopelessness and despair, sometimes apathy and loss of feelings
Social problems: Irritability and desire to avoid social contact
Anxiety: Tension and inability to tolerate stress
Loss of libido Decreased interest in sex and physical contact
Mood changes In some sufferers, extremes of mood and short periods of hypomania (overactivity) in spring and autumn.

Most sufferers show signs of a weakened immune, system during the Winter, and are more vulnerable to infections and other illnesses.

SAD symptoms disappear in Spring, either suddenly with a short period (e.g., four weeks) of hypomania or hyperactivity, or gradually, depending on the intensity of sunlight in the Spring and early Summer.

In sub-syndromal SAD, symptoms such as tiredness, lethargy, sleep and eating problems occur, but depression and anxiety are absent or mild.
SAD may begin at any age but the main age of onset is between 18 and 30 years.
It occurs throughout the northern and southern hemispheres but is extremely rare in those living within 30 degrees of the Equator, where daylight hours are long, constant and extremely bright

I hope this will help, knowing why you are feeling like this is half the battle.

There must be a reason for you to feel this way, maybe deep down you can answer the question for yourself. It maybe depression, when the level of seratonin in the brain lowers. You may want to speak with your GP or a councillor who can help you get to the route of the problem. Antidepressants may help, but best not to rush into taking them. You could try a natural antidepressant called st johns wort to see if it helps you to feel better at all. You are not sounding spoilt at all, you can t help feeling unhappy, hope you feel better soon.

Hows your family life? If something has changed recently or just about to it could be affecting you more then you realise.

there are many reasons you could be feeling down, maybe it is just a phase or maybe it can be best to discuss things with a complete stranger because they could see something you don't. Have you discussed it with your girlfriend? If not I think now is the time to do so because if you take this bad time out on her, she may walk away because it gets too much.

Seek help before it becomes too much.

seea phychiatrists, you could actually only think you are happy but that could be a creation of your will so your brain makes you think you are happy, but deep inside you are not -but you need to find out, if it is pepetual misery you may have chemical misbalances in your body which could be due to many reasons so seek expert advice, it could be phycological in that it could be something from your past, or you need to find something thast you actually enjoy, money isnt hapiness and you may not actually like your girlfriend but have just grown accustomed to her and society's views that you should be happy with her. Y ou could be seriously depressed, seek expert advice asap cos your brain may be unable to produce endorphines for some reason all of a sudden,

just because you think you have everything doesn't necessarily mean that you will be happy....famous people commit suicide and you would think what more could they possibly ask for....why don't you see a psychiatrist and find out what's the big issue here...may be depression but you wont know until you see a professional
