It is true. I am the one in six of those also. 8-10 years old, best friends 18 year old brother, 13 y/o, boy friend who wouldn't take no for an answer, 14 y/o, another boy friend who wouldn't take no for an answer. Each time I was held down, stripped, etc. Children really don't know how to handle things like this, so alot of the people who do these things are still out there. So yeah, most American women have probably had been a victim. People suck. And my parent wonder why I hated my childhood.

I have been on the victim end of it. And I think it says we live in a very sad society where men, and women (Yes women can commit rape). Feel the need to take something from someone with out their permission. It took me quite a while, and a lot of caring and understanding from my husband to get over it. I think males who are convicted of rape should be castrated. And I am not sure what we could do with the females.

Yep, sounds right. Maybe even more. I was almost raped. I say that and people are like, "How do you ALMOST get raped?" Well, I played stupid (I'm a model and I was supposed to meet with this guy for a freelance photoshoot. He would meet the girls for the prelim in Los Angeles and then rape them at the shoot in some other location.) Well, I felt something fishy when I first met him, so I played dumb and said I was so excited about the shoot and I'd meet him at the warehouse where we were going to do the shoot that Wednesday. I got home and did a little research. As it turned out, the guy was wanted for sexual assault! I called the police, but unfortunately, I think he figured me out, because when they got there, his apartment was empty.

This is a WORLD issue
It just goes to show the human race still needs to evolve as this is a crime and only sets back the evolution of man, many woman still are victomized and as well many men who are still afraid of coming forth that goes along with this issue,I feel education is in great demand to make this a known fact that this is wrong in any degree ,the answer NO means NO people need to learn. The hurting needs to stop!

It means SOME MEN have a mental problem ! Their overwhleming urge to control is getting out of hand... Rape isn't about sex, it is about the control.

I DO feel that they should get back what they gave.... so now some big guy named bubba should have his way with them...(why do I think all the big guys are named bubba ?)

I agree with the statistics and stress to women that they need to learn some sort of self defense!

That's an underestimate.

It makes me wonder how many American men have been the ones to attempt or complete a rape.

This is totally the result of a society that has left God. Men dont respect women. and few women today respect themselves. When people walk away from God and a culture that is a Godly culture, it creates this whole environment where self is all that matters, and respect for self and others is gone. Now as many women today as men are into porn, filth of all kinds, and are willing to stay as someone thts just to gratify a man sexually, etc. When men and women realize God's plan for relationship, then this kind of thing will stop. Jesus is coming soon, and He is showing us already the results of a Godless society. WE need to turn our hearts and minds to Him now, and our lives, and learn to give respect to everyone, and be treated in a respectful way ourselves. This is the only answer to changing these type of statistics. How much more do people have to see to realize what seperation from God will do to them and all of society, except those who faithfull STILL stand for God.???? much to ponder on.

With all the sick and desperate bastards out there...that seems a bit low to me. People need to learn how to appreciate life a little better. And seriously...if your that desperate..just scrounge up 50 bucks and get a Prostitute. By the way...I don't know if 50 bucks is enough...I've never got to enjoy the attention of a Prostitute...and I don't think I'll ever need too. Haha.

AND...

AMEN TO THAT WEEDMAN! haha

I think it's sad.

And I think Tom Cruise (the one posting here) should realize that rape is one of the FEW topics that really just aren't funny. Any way you slice it, there's just really nothing funny about it.

I guess some people don't understand that until it hits too close...
