I am diabetic and the issue is the amount of carbohydrates that you eat. Carbohydrates turn into glucose in the blood stream. You will want to minimize your carbohydrate intake to a point where your insulin can manage.

Your choices are to eat differently (low carb) or eat less.

I started on a weight loss plan on July 15, 2006. My blood glucose reading was 250. After 24 days on this plan, my blood sugar was in control and has remained in control since. I have lost 32 pounds since that time as well.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

talk to your doctor about what you're able to eat.

if you are supposed to be eating fatty foods:

Fassoulakia
Green beans (1 pound, fresh)
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 onion, diced
olive oil
1 can diced tomatoes
1-2 tablespoons tomato paste
a few *fresh*sprigs of fresh mint (mint plant)--chopped tiny
salt

sautee onion and olive oil.
add garlic...sautee for a couple minutes longer.
add green beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, and mint leaves!
"boil/sautee"
add water to cover all of this, bring to a boil, and then lower the temp to low-medium, until it's cooked down..it's reaaaaalllly yummmmmyyyy!!!
