Twinkies was one incredibly sweet processed junk food that too many people ate to the detriment of their health. Twinkies were made famous in San Francisco in a case that used eating Twinkies as their defense claiming they were 'out of their minds' from the effects. "On November 27, 1978, in San Francisco, Dan White, who had recently resigned from his city supervisor position, climbed through a basement window in City Hall and walked upstairs to Mayor George Moscone's office. He demanded his job back, and when Moscone refused, White fatally wounded the mayor with four gunshots. White quickly reloaded, walked down the hall to the office of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay person to hold public office, and killed him with five gunshots."
It is now used as the Twinkie Defense and has grown in it's meaning.

It's a snack food made by Hostess. Don't know how old it is but might be over 30 years old. It's about 4 inches long, 1 inch tall, and 1 inch wide. It's made of a fluffy light yellow cake with a white cream filling. It tastes completely artificial and is very sweet.

It's a yellow sponge cake that is about 3 to 4 inches long in the shape of a log and it is filled whith white cream filling. If you ever able to get one you will loke it a lot

What everyone else said. Originally, the twinkie was supposed to evoke the idea of a banana (it might have even had banana flavoring to it), but those days are long gone.

Twinkies are nasty.... nothing but processed sugar and fats... ewwww... oh, and preservatives.... they will last FOREVER... lol (actually that's not true, only about a year shelf-life, but still-that's a long time for a cake/confection to last)
