I thought those were from Dante's Inferno and not really from the bible... still... it's funny if they think so and then break them anyways!

When you believe and trust in the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins and when He was buried He took your sins away and He rose again the third day so you can just before God. There is no sin put to your account because they are under the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Should we continue in sin so grace can abound? God forbid. Romans 6: 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Romans 6: 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? I am still living in a body of sin but the body of flesh is not redeemed but the soul and spirit have been cut loose from the body. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Colossians 2: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

those are the 7 deadly sins in my Bible. Proverbs 6:sixteen There are six issues the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a mendacity tongue, hands that shed harmless blood, 18 a coronary heart that devises depraved schemes, feet that are rapid to hurry into evil, 19 a pretend witness who pours out lies and a guy who stirs up dissension between brothers. i do no longer think of the Bible says that individuals who relish ingesting foodstuff are sinning (gluttony).

Seven deadly sins nothing -- that list sounds like the makings of a grand night out...
More to your point, and speaking from a position outside the Christian church, the central message as it has been explained to me is that humans are fallible, and that we can only move ahead in life (or afterwards) through forgiveness. This is a tremendously important lesson to learn, whatever your spiritual background. And one key point that seems to be missing from Christian arguments that I am aware of is that we must constantly practice forgiveness, understanding and compassion, just as we must constantly eat, breathe, sleep, have sex, and bathe. (In whatever order works for you...)
The Buddhist parable of Kandata is worth reviewing to see another culture's view on the importance of forgiveness, or compassion, for the failings and weaknesses of humans. One day the Buddha was walking beside a lotus pond in paradise; as he looked through the leaves and into the water, he found that he could see all the way through the world and down into the depths of hell. There he saw a bandit named Kandata, a man who had robbed and murdered all his life.
Yet the Buddha also knew that at one point, Kandata had spared the life of a spider, because Kandata saw that even though tiny, the spider had life and deserved to be treated with compassion. So the Buddha sent down a line of spider's silk to Kandata and out of his compassion, offered a way for him to climb up out of Hell.
Kandata began climbing, and though it was a single thread of silk it supported his weight. Then other souls in Hell saw the thread and began climbing it; it supported their weight as well, hundreds of souls climbing on the thread of the Buddha's compassion.
Kandata looked behind him and was greedy, and shouted "Get off! This thread is mine!" And at that the thread broke, and all the souls tumbled back down into Hell.
So while we are given examples and parables and guidance by spiritual leaders from Jesus to Gandhi, from Kuan Yin to Mother Teresa, in the end it's not what we know, it's what we do, and what we do again and again. And that is the eternal struggle between human nature and Buddha-nature, or Christian charity, or whatever your personal incarnation of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara is called.

Actually, the list you've provided is not in the Bible. Here's the REAL list from Proverbs 6:
16 These six things the LORD hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.
God's nature never changes, so these are still things that are repugnant to Him.

being a christian is not a game, buying clothes do not have anything to do with pride, how can you say anything about what christians do when your soul is lost, not believe in God or Jesus...I feel sorry for you, I honestly do. But when you stand before Jesus on judgment day, your little smart comments aren't going to save you then. you don't even know what you are talking about. whether you believe it or not the Devil has you fooled, you can't even see that he is using you.

Who made these into the seven deadly sins? Was it the catholics? I never read these isolated by themselves in the bible cause there are MANY deadly sins to avoid in there and yes, they do apply to today.

Basically yes. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But God knew we needed a savior, so he sent his Son. Your question is interesting. You don't believe in a God, Heaven, Hell, or Devil. and yet you want to know what the rules are.
What if your theory that there is no God is wrong? If my theory that God exists is wrong my only loss is that I did not fullfill the desires of my flesh. If you are wrong you risk spending an eternity all alone in pain. Please consider Jer 29:11. If you seek me you will find me if you search for me with your whole heart. Please ask God to show you the truth.

and don't forget the 4 Cardinal Virtues
one of the 'deadly' sins is hope or belief in self...now there's a killer. (of faith)
What it is: Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.
Why you do it: Well-meaning elementary school teachers told you to "believe in yourself."
Your punishment in Hell will be: You'll be broken on the wheel.

"the wages of sin is death!" period! There is not a person on this earth that is good not one! All have fallen short and are sinners.....that means me too....I wouldn't say that those that you mentioned are called "deadly sins" but sin is sin......The last instruction Jesus left us was to love one another.....take those seven you mentioned and see if they involve love? they do not....make your own decision here.....I can't tell you if you don't already feel it inside of you!

Actually, those rules really shouldn't apply anymore. They were destroyed in the New Covenant, according to Christianity. The New Covenant was Jesus-- all they have to do is believe he was the Son of the Christian God.
