Im an 18 year old girl and Ive been drinking alcohol for about a year or more now. But everytime I drink I be sick, and its not because im drinking too much as it happens usually aftr one or two drinks and I mean every drink be it beer, vodka, or alcopops. I am beginnign to get a bit worried, although after I am sick I always feel fine. I dont really want to tell my mum because she will just say Im drinking too much when I know its not that.

Okay, here's my advice - why would you keep engaging in a behaviour that so obviously disagrees with you? If you had this reaction from eating eggs, my guess is you'd stop eating eggs. Alcohol is not a must have. I'm more concerned about you feeling you have to solve this problem by investigating the whys...just quit drinking alcohol and your problem is solved.

Drinking alcohol isn't compulsory. Why make yourself sick unnecessarily? Just tell your friends that it doesn't agree with you and stop taking it. If you are able to drive, you could end up being really popular by being the designated driver each time your friends go out drinking, in which case the rule is that they pay for all your (non alcoholic) drinks. Look on it as an asset rather than a problem!

Anna - you could be like my Mum and have a real allergy to alcohol. Or you could be like I was a couple of years ago, with a severly-damaged liver from consuming more alcohol than my body could cope with. Be careful. I very nearly died. It got to the stage where my body rejected literally EVERYTHING - any food, even a glass of water - and I ended up in hospital for a month. But they fixed it, thank God, and I'm a million times better. I also had a bacterial infection that I had no idea about (e-coli - really not pleasant!. This didn't show in the 15 or so separate complete sets of blood tests I had over those three years. Talk to your doctor (your Mum first!) and get him/her to take you seriously. Take care of yourself & good luck

You definately have an allergy to alcohol someone I knew was exactly the same but much more severe. Go to the doc's and discuss it your mum wont have to know because of doctor/patient confidentiality. If I were you I would just avoid alcohol until I'd been to c the doc coz u never no it could b worse next time it happens.

Simple - if it makes you sick just don't do it !!!
If smoking made you sick would you continue to smoke?
If you ate beefburgers and they made you sick every time would you continue to eat them?
Just because there is a social stigma attached to drinking it doesn't mean you have to carry on drinking - simply drink non alchoholic drinks when you go out - if your friends make fun of you tell them to "F" off !
If you feel you want to reply to me that you can only have a good time when your drunk then that is a shame...
My friends dad has just been in hospital because he drank every day (drank - not got drunk!!!) for the last 40 yrs and has just been told if he has another drink it will kill him.

If you dont feel well after drinking then quit. DUH Really sounds like you cant drink so at 18 you need to stop. Its not even legal at your age. Depending on where u are from in the US u need to be 21 yrs old. Drinking so early in life might indicate an issue with your moods and attitude. Are there other problems? Alcohol eventually will damage your body please be careful.

try building up your ability to drink. ie have one shot of spirit in half pint of coke or lemonade and gradually introduce more over a period of months. I am a seasoned drinker and if I don't feel well but in a situation of drinking then a preference is baileys. Don't dance when your out drinking and drink outside to get fresh air. Drink standing up so that your stomach is not compressed.

You are either allergic or your body is reacting against it for some reason.
Just give it a miss and stick with soft drinks. You wont be missing much by staying away from the booze and you'll reap the long term benefits.

It sounds as if you are allergic or hypersensitive to alcohol. It is simple...if you get sick every time you drink ...don't do it, lol. Besides you are too young to drink. Other things to consider....
1. a stomach ucler...see a doc.
2. drinking with medication that causes adverse effects with alcohol (check your medication for side effects)
