See we planned a scavenger hunt type thing for a friend of ours so I need to top that. I already have a surprise dinner followed by a night at the bar planned but I need something original to top what we did for our friend. Please help!

The surprise dinner can already make his day, just make sure to invite all his loved ones - family and closest friends - because it will mean so much to him to be surrounded by all the people who means the world to him, most esp you who worked hard in planning for it.
Just the same you can top it by giving something he'd really like to have (and yet he still haven't had).. Guys normally collect stuff. Find out what else he collects and then add to his collection in the form of a gift. That will really mean big to him being able to know what he really likes. OR you can also buy a his and hers stuffs, which if it's a cool shirt, you can try to wear together for dinner.

Have no idea where you live but when I was dating my then - husband I set up a Glider Ride for him on his BD. It was out of Durango CO. but there's lots of small airports who offer this service and it was the greatest present he said he had ever gotten. Check around to see if they are offered near you and I can assure you he would love it.
