There are a number of causes for blood in the stool. It also depends on the colour of the blood and also whether it is mixed with stools or not.
Bright red blood that drips in to the toilet bowl after passing stools is usually due to a tear of blood vessels at the anal margins(fissures, tears). This tear is usually due to passage of hard stools(constipation). This can also happen with a condition called piles(engorged blood vessels).
Blood mixed with stools can happen with infection due to Salmonella, Campylobacter, E.Coli, Shigella etc. ; with inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's and Ulcerative colitis. It can also be due to stools shearing a growth from the bowel wall as they move forward, called polyp. It can also happen with bowel cancer , bleeding disorders, anal sex though rarely.
Most commonest reason is Constipation.

when your going to the loo do you push too hard to get the stool out of you that can make you bleed a little. try and relax the next time and it will be ok. bring a book to the bathroom with you.

Either there is or there isn't. If there is then it could be a small haemorrhoid or what is commonly known as a 'pile' This condition can usually be resolved by eating sufficient fibre that is fruit veg oil capsules. exercise. That's what it sounds like to me. However, as you probably know a visit to your GP is your best answer.

depends on the colour..............red is fresh and piles, maybe hidden just inside, left un treated they could make you anaemic quite quickly
if it is dark blood and smells sweet go to a doctor now.
