A few years ago when I first got my digital camera I would transfer all my photos to my hard drive and not have them printed. Now I have been taking the photo card to Walmart and having them developed and then transfer them to my hard drive. Is there any way to save the photos that were never printed and have them developed at Walmart/Costo? You can't transfer the photo's back to the card can you? Any easy ideas would be helpful as I am not real familiar with this stuff.

As previously mentioned, you can simply upload the photos to your choice of printing service without dealing with putting them back onto a card. I have had much success with Costco's on-line service. If you have a membership to Costco and have the choice between Costco and Walmart, choose Costco. They print on higher quality Fuji paper with higher quality printers. I know several professionals who both use and promote Costco for inexpensive yet amazing prints. It is hard to be 17 cents per print for quality.

Costco also has the pictures ready in about an hour in-store so you can go pick them up without waiting. If you'd like, you can have Costco ships the prints to your house for FREE! (4x6). Images you submit on-line remain on-line for a set amount of time so if you want more, just print more without having to upload again.

If you want to put the images back on a card, you can do that as well. Many cameras act as a card reader when connected to a computer. Once the camera is connected and on, open My Computer and look for the camera listed. You can copy the image files directly to the card this way. You may also want to look for a USB card reader for your computer. You can then bypass the camera all together and save battery life. They are inexpensive at around $10-15.

If they're on your computer you can write them to CD if you have CD writer. You should be able to put the hotos back on the camera's memory card from your computer with a card reader - then it just acts as a storage device...

If you go to Walmart.com and have a high speed internet connection, it is pretty trivial to download them to their photo center. When you check out, you can either have them mailed directly to you or sent to any local Walmart for pickup.
