In a new relationship with a man who makes me feel like me - like how I used to be, how I want to be. I have girlfriends from a prior relationship - I have left those friendships on the back burner. Now she wants us all to get together for drinks - I feel as if I've moved on & that we are different than how she wants me to be, how she remembers me. What should I do?

The easiest way to move on is not to respond to their invitations with an OK I'll be there. Just explain that you are trying to give your relationship 110% and that you will have to take a rain check.

Well, they are or were your "friends" so I think you at least owe them a night. It's really the perfect opportunity to show them who you are now. Then if they make you comfortable and you have fun, you'll know they accept the "new/old" you. Being yourself and how you want to be, feeling good about who you are, is a gift. So, don't choose them OVER your man, he sounds like a perfect fit. If the problems with the girlfriends involve drinking, etc.. and you're not into it anymore, just tell them. If it's an addiction problem, then don't even tempt yourself. But if the conflict is simply that you've found Mr.Right and they're still looking, well I don't think that's worth trashing the friendships, it deserves a chance at change. good luck.

Just act like yourself. She can either take it or leave it. Don't put on a show for anyone.

a friend will always be a friend. If you leave your behind then you were never a true friend. If they leave you behind they were never true friends.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to. So, if you don't want to hang with your old friends... don't.
