Very Clever Ichi!
It seems like if you are proselytizing for God with an avatar then you would be bruising if not breaking the first and second commandments.
You are brilliant!

Words can have more than one meaning.
avatar (plural avatars)
1. The physical embodiment of an idea or concept; a personification.
2. (computing) A digital representation of a person or being.
3. (Hinduism) The earthly incarnation of a deity, particularly Vishnu.

I think you are carrying it way too far. First of all no matter what the history of it is, 99 percent of the people just think its a cartoon. If you look into the history of a LOT of what we do in our society, you could find some pagan origin. You are touching to much on the technicalities. I don't think someone using a cartoon picture is making a false God. Besides you said "using" this website is wrong, and yet here you are. You are obviously deeply entrenched in legalism, something that God hates.

An avatar in this instance is a representation of the user of the Yahoo account. In no way is an idol or incarnate form of a deity.

That a completely specious argument. . You do realize that like many words, avatar can mean 2 different things, and obviously a fanciful representation og oneself is not a graven image. I don't think many people are worshiping their avatars either.
If people must engage in low level debates about which religion is bettter, as if they were competing sports teams, at least give the questions and answers some thought.

That is one definition of an avatar. There is a new definition, with the advent of Internet technology, for example. Get yourself an updated dictionary.
Also, are you aware that Jewish people believe that the Ten Commandments came from God as well?

Ichi I am not worshiping the avatar therefore it is not an idol. It is not an image of God for no woman is God . I worship the one and only God theFatherAnd Jesus Christ ourSaviour. Sorry I also do not believe in Hindu mythology if I did I would be believing in a different God and therefore would not be a christian.

I serve only one TRUE GOD, THAT IS THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAACC, JACOB, THE ONE TRUE GOD OF ISRAEL. therefore you have used food , car, house, sleep & also this site as a God, That goes to show how peoples minds is warped & they like to condem & Agitate. It's one thing you have to admire about the Taliban. They read their holy text - they take it literally - they put aside any luxury that is prohibited (images of any kind, music, kite-flying, and so on). Western Christians constantly move the goalposts to suit themselves. But then they very early on fogot about Christ's loathing for the rich and powerful, became rich and powerful in many cases themselves, and still reckon he's on their side; and Christ, being dead, can't answer back (he would despise them on so many grounds). Wonderful to be able to claim the support of such an iconic figure no matter what you do.

unless you're an actual hindu god. I think the term "avatar" is just a word to reference you're representative image in an artificial environment. But if you wanna dig deeper. Since we created this online "world", then yes we are all little gods as we control and influence every aspect of it. Your own online photo could be considered an avatar since its only a representation of you in this "world" Ciao baby
