Forget buying any VW campervan on the internet. Would you buy a child off the net??? Well your VW will be more important to you than a child...and there are MANY more bits that can be wrong or dodgy with a camper than with a child!!! Get yourself a copy of VW Camper & Bus magazine from WHSmiths. It is a bi-monthly magazine, bought, read & written by real VW people. In the back of there you'll find LOADS of campers for sale...that are worth buying! Ebay is full of rusty ole sheds, and I'm guessing NONE of the people answering above have ever bought a VW camper off ebay - I do know, I bought one...never again...it ended up going straight to the scrap and I got £80 back. Paid £400 for it on Ebay...what a bargin!
Feel free to contact me if I can help with anything...I now have a gorgeous 1978 Bay Window...but they still and will always cost a fair bit of money to keep!

as mentioned, eBay, or Auto Trader. On another note, I'd personally take a look in any related magazines too, if you haven't done so already.
