Narrate good lively but cooked-up stories of children who stood to gain by regularly brushing teeth, and request your friends to in turn ask their children to call /phone your daughter to endorse the stories, or at least okay the concept. Same age children drive home the point better !

brush them yourself, she's too young to do a good job until she's about 5 or 6. 3 year olds are not coordinated enough to brush all surfaces of all teeth. i know you're hoping you can put some of these things on autopilot like potty training and eating, but you're going to have to tough this parental responsibility out for another few years if you don't want her to have cavities. hang in there, it's almost over :)

You have some really good suggestion from previous answers. It is difficult to determine which may be the one that works for your daughter, but keep trying. I applaud you for trying to teach this to your daughter. It is so important for her future health, and of course, she is much too young to understand that. Try, try and keep trying. She will probably start brushing on her own, but still forget a lot and need reminding. Don't give up. Also, your local pediatric dentist may have some good suggestions.

I was just discussing this question with my mother, telling her that i will tell u about a blue mouthwash i had seen on a commercial and when i came into answer, i noticed Lara J had thought the same thing!! Apparently the blue sticks to the teeth where the plague and food are and gives them incentive to bush it away. Sorry i don't remmber the brand name.

Show her pictures of rotten teeth of people who didn't brush twice a day!! (might try England or European area for pictures or just go to a Dental journal you find in Dentist's office)

Make it a positive experience. Brush with her, let her see how you do it. Perhaps try some flavored toothpaste. Let her get excited about it, take her to buy a brand new toothbrush of her picking and toothpaste of her picking.

Buy a tooth paste with her favorite character on it and allow her to put the tooth paste on with assistance from you. I had the same problem with my three year old.

are you the parent or her friend? you beat her! i mean it, if she doesn't brush you have to hit her with a belt or hair brush until she agrees to brush.
what's the matter with parents these days?

You DON'T! She can't do it properly anyhow. YOU have to do it. The minimum is that you do it at bedtime and she is allowed to try in the morning.
