She sounds ready to me. After she wakes up from her nap, take her potty and see what happens. Perhaps get a book on potty training to read while she is with you and see how she reacts. Then re visit this with her mother. She may be just overwhelmed and not know where to start.

You know you can't really make them potty train they have to want to do it. BUT if she is waking up with dry diaper then I would try to sit her on the potty and see if she will go for you but remember to do this in about the first ten minutes of waking up otherwise it could be too late and she could go in her diaper. From the past experiences of working in a daycare potty training is a two way street. If you start the process the parent(s) have to do it at home too. You can certainly try to put her on the potty when she gets up from a nap and see if she goes. if she does then try to take her every half an hour or so. but remember you are not going to get anywhere if you don't have the support of the parent(s) at home. She could be potty trained in no time at all if every one works together at it.

Some signs they say to look for are waking up dry, interest in the potty when YOU go, and complaining when they are wet. Potty-training is a BIG commitment, so I don't blame the Mom for not listening. That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with introducing the child to the potty, just so she can get used to the idea of it. Ask her if she wants to sit on it- even if she doesn't "go", she will still be getting the idea.

some toddlers bypass with the aid of this. She'll start up lower back and prefer the potty. Do you utilize a potty chair or the huge potty? i bought 2 diverse toddler potties and my son insisted on making use of the huge potty.. so we bought a seat. She be back on there earlier you be attentive to it. There are some stunning books and movies to assist motivate her too. stable luck!!

Some times us as parents really don't know.So happy that you recognize that about your niece. So you just go ahead and take her to potty before and after she naps,or anytime you think that she may want to go.(you can ask her at times too).Try to teach her the words when you take her.Praise or give her some kind reward, she'll like it.Seeing that she's waking up dry,now is the best time to encourage her becuase you don't want her to revert to wetting again (yep they do that)That's when her mom will be surprised and thank you.To be truthful, parents sometimes need help to groom kids but we can't do it by ourselves all the time no matter how strong we are!(:-)

Depends on the child. I've seen some kids who were potty trained at roughly 1 year of age and others that didn't start until they were 4. It might also depend on the way the parents are raising the child.

It's never too early. My nephew is just hitting 2 years old and he's already telling grandma when it's time to go potty

put her on the potty as soon as she wakes up , give her a big reward if she goes and a small one if she doesn't. Is she telling you when she goes in her diaper??

My grandson, who was always soooo..good getting his diapers changed, absolutely rebelled one day, thought it was strange, did it the next day...so we put him on the toilet more ofter...and within one day, was trained for both night and day time...(he did not have a wet morning diaper for awhile before hand)...He was about 23 months old at the time....

Sh e will show signs when she is ready.

Sound s like that lady doesn't need to be a mom if she could care less about her kid.
