Is your child in pain or discomfort ? Are you trying to toilet train them at this time ? There are so many reasons that could be affecting this and it could be something as simple as they just don't need to go. ( probably not, but, it has happened to me )
If you are toilet training, your child might be holding it in. A sure sign of this is if you catch them stiffening up in a standing position. It would look like they are trying to hold up the wall or prancing in place. A child will do this sometimes even if you aren't toilet training them. There are psychological reasons for this. They are afraid that they are losing a part of themselves and it will be flushed away. Try to teach them that the bowel movement isn't a part of their body, rather it is the leftovers that your body doesn't want from the food that they have eaten.
In treatment, you don't want to start with the big guns. Try eliminating binding foods and add laxative foods. Binding foods are bananas and rice. Laxative foods are most fruits, ( pears, apples, plums ) and prune juice. I've had very good results with well cooked greeen peppers as a laxative. Also use stomach massage to move things along. Circular motions starting in the middle of the belly, spiraling out to rub the entire abdomen works as well as pumping the child's legs up against the belly ( kind of like do bicycle kicks in the air, but make sure the thighs are hitting the belly ) Also, having your child roll their body up so that their feet are near their ears works ( Plough Position if you know Yoga ) These techiniques are outlined in most baby massage books. If that doesn't work in about 3 days, try Maltsupex. It is barley malt soup extract. You can get it at the pharmacy without a prescription. If after all this, your child is still not going, try a glycerin suppository. You don't want to use anything with medication because it ends up irritating the bowels.
Good luck.

Add a little Benefiber to his drinks. You may need a pediatric glycerin suppository to help get things moving. A bean burrito from Taco Bell used to do the trick for my daughter when she was younger. Don't wait. Not going #2 for a long time can make him really sick because toxins are not being eliminated.

Try a bit of mineral oil, a teaspoon maybe, It will soften the stool and hopefully will work. If it's been this long, however, you really should take the little guy to the clinic.

A TRIP TO THE PEDIATRICIAN ABOUT 1.5 WEEKS AGO. I'M REPORTING YOU FOR CHILD ABUSE. DO YOU WANT TO KILL HIM????????? HE IS OBVIOUSLY OBSTRUCTED.
Please tell us you are playing some kind of sick joke and not really withholding crucial medical care from your own flesh and blood??
