Topical hydrocortisone is incapable of passing the blood brain barrier unless it's in a mildly acidic vehicle ie:hydro mantle or the like. It's more likely to increase the amount of cortisone(not cortisol) in your blood which has a totally different role.Cortisol and cortisone are adrenal hormones but have very different roles in your body.Hydrocortisone is most often administered topically to the skin.If you're taking it orally it should not have a negative effect either.Nonetheless,it does not negatively affect weight loss. And I knew what you were asking. It's a perfectly valid question.Doing this under the supervision of a doctor should not elevate your cortisol to the point where there is a negative effect. It's merely hormone replacement thereapy.Your hormone levels should be monitored though.Provided they are, you'll have no trouble at all.Excess cortisol has been linked to weight gain mainly because of it's effect on androgen levels. They should not be giving you so much that it will hurt your progress. It's merely a maintenance programme. Therefore,if it's under a doctors supervision it will not affect your ability to lose weight nor cause weight gain(maybe a little water retention).

forget that. My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

There have been several studies that show that it does NOT help you loose weight. The studies also state that people who are over weight actually do not have an over abundance of cortisol that is not the problem.

Omg i have never heard that one before. I am so sorry but I think you need to reconsider this idea. I have heard of the use of hydrocortisone for allergies and for some rashes etc but never for any form of weight control. At least discuss this with your doctor first sounds dangerous to me.
