Many Christian holidays were designed around Pagan holidays simply to challenge them and also to convert said Pagans. We Christians love a good party--especially to gove glory where it is well desrved--in God's Name. Is this not a great idea?

What is deceitful about open honesty? And remember--I, personally, had nothing to do with setting the dates/traditions--watch your language please.

Why do we let what other people do bother us so much?

I wish I could vote best answer but it says to wait 4 hours!
My choice may surprise you as I too wonder about the reasoning of the Church authority in choosing dates for these holidays. I will still celebrate the birth of Christ--it is a beautiful holiday.
I love people of all religions, even if I don't agree--for those who took offense--SHEESH!

Why convert pagans? Why not respect their religion and holidays and live and let live?
Since Christianity borrowed holidays from pagans so long ago, I can't see getting upset over it now. It's water over the bridge and the holidays have been thoroughly ingrained within most Christian beliefs. That doesn't mean that I want to see it continue today. I hope that you enjoy your holidays without feeling the need to coerce people to believe as you do.

Depending upon how it's done, it can go from disinteresting to fully offensive. If you're just holding a Halloween bash at the church, and invite everyone, and are up front about it? Go ahead, no issue. A bait-and-switch, or crashing someone else's party? Totally unwelcome.
While I know you are focusing specifically upon the method of conversion, I'd actually focus more on the desire to convert others. While I realize that Christianity includes a mandate for a certain amount of evangelizing, there comes a point when non-Christians simply don't wish to be bothered by it any more. Since there isn't a "no-call list" when it comes down to conversion attempts, I'd recommend against it; you'll actually attract more converts through being a living example of your faith then by holding evangelical holiday parties, and you'll earn more respect over it as well.

This happened in the past. If you are aware of the church's tricks then you are immune from them. Why do you want to trick pagans? Your deceit is ungodly.
Also who influenced who? After all Christians celebrate Easter and Christmas on the Pagans days not the actual time the purported events happened.
Have a lovely day darlin'.

Actually, you are wrong (quell surprise!). Many christian holidays were moved to the same days as pagan holidays b/c: A. it would appear as though people were celebrating christianity and B. it would have been too hard to eradicate centuries old pagan festivals.
Also, much of christianity was cribbed from various pagan faiths....

Your religion has already supplanted most all of ours already are you going to make up a new one? How would it be different from the others? I normally don't get offended by the crap people like you vomit up but THIS IDEA totally offends me but I guess that's your point or purpose, isn't it. You want to get us angry so you have something to point at and say "See! I was right! They are hateful and evil!" You will not get that satisfaction from me.....I don't hate you but that doesn't mean I have to like you or your ideas either.
Blessed Be
Here's an analogy for you.....If you take a normally peaceful animal and back it into a corner then begin to taunt, tease and torture (verbally or physically) said animal eventually it will give in to instinct and defend itself.

You are f*cking offensive. This has been used to demean, debase, and destroy Pagan religions by smothering our festivals (Ostara, Samhain, Yule...) with your own cheap copies.
It's a terrible idea and I hate you for it. There is no reason for you to think we should want to be converted, and we sure as hell don't want you cheapening our religion further.
Besides, the only ones left are like... Lammas and Beltane. And I'd like to see you try to twist Beltane into a Christian holiday.
Edit: ... "Why do we let what other people do bother us so much?" Because you want to take over and demean ANOTHER of our religions! You wanna know how hard it is to explain to someone that you celebrate Ostara rather than Easter, and that Ostara actually predates Easter? Or that the same goes for Yule (Christmas) and Samhain (Halloween)?

You don't love the type of part pagans love....
Personally, if I were a pagan, I would be kind of ticked off that you corrupted their holidays and adapted them to be your own.

Because they have a right not to share your beliefs, that's why. It's nice you didn't just burn all of them, but couldn't you leave well enough alone?
