I had exactly the same symptoms 5 years ago, really bad too, agressiveness, emotional breakdowns, happy, depression, almost to the point of being very compulsive in alot of my mannerisms and overall general character, so I started out on Zoloft 25mg, then went to 50mg, 100mg and now I am on a 150mg maintenance with Zoloft and it has improved my life 110%, it was like a blessing and a gift from God that has changed my entire life. I don't experience any side effects from it either, I hope that if you start on a treatment of Zoloft it will give you the same results as it did me, I got my life back. Good Luck and God Bless

You should see a psychologist to investigate the possibility of depression, bipolar, etc. Nobody here is qualified to diagnose anything. In the meantime, I recommend getting enough sleep, a healthy diet, dealing with things that might be bothering you - things that are not being dealt with, and exercise.

First thing is don't panic and get down on yourself. This is very common. (hard to believe, i know). Most likely you have a little imbalance. You need to speak to your doctor asap. They will probably prescribe something. Most times you need to take it for 6 mo's. Some of us are lifers. Who cares either way. It's about quality of life. I hated living that roller coaster..i am more stable and practical now. Good luck.

There is an over the counter medicine called Premsyn. I saved my marriage. It just helps clip the extremes off of the swings, if that doesn't help, and it should, you might think about something stronger from a doctor.

I was at one stage taking mood contolling drugs - they worked for a while but then I started being unable to stomach them - if your going from extreme highs to extreme lows you should really see a Dr as its possible you have bipolar or extreme depression - my moods can be all over the shop but I have depression and an anxiety disorder.

It could be a lot of reasons why you have mood swings.

It could as simple as your diet or as complex as suffering from chemical depression.

This is serious because as you can imagine it can really screw up your life......see your doctor to get started in finding out what's causing this.

It could be anything from hormones, thyroid, chemical imbalance, the proper place to get a correct answer is a
qualified doctor, good blood work, and don't give up until you
find out.

good luck

I find that my "mood swings" are mostly physcological, but mine are only around my period. Yours sounds like you could be bi-polar. If I were you, I'd go to your doctor and tell him/her what is going on and what they recommend.
