Prop86 is a secret agreement between 'Big Tobacco' and U.S. Gov. in which they will share in the BILLIONNS of$$ generated by 86 disguised as non smoking programs.

Some people simply will not be able to smoke because they can't afford it if they need a bank loan to get a pack of Marlboro Reds. Other people, even those who can afford it, may say that they refuse to pay the gross national product of Rwanda for smokes.

It doesn't matter if higher taxes do or don't reduce the incidence of smoking; what matters is that smoking-related illnesses cost our society BILLIONS of dollars a year, so people who smoke SHOULD be required to pick up at least a small portion of that cost through cigarette taxes.

Taxes are rarely levied for the public's interest silly. Politicians spin this crap in such a way as to make you think it's for health and public service, but NO, they just want another revenue stream.
