Go to the local embassy and ask about local recruiters. It is possible. I helped a German in 1997 get into the Army. They will assit you with getting a green card and will give you Citizenship after a number of years served.

If you are already a member of certain NATO militaries, there is a program under which you can enlist in the United States Army for a number of years (I believe the maximum enlistment, which is 6) in exchange for Permanent Residency status. I've met two people who entered under this program, both German.
At minimum, everyone else MUST be a Permanent Resident with an SSN. If you want less hassle, go knock at the French Foreign Legion's door in Grenoble.

Well, I would think the answer would be obvious - but you can't.
The U.S. Military will not even help you get a green card. Why don't you just sign up with your military and leave our benefits for Americans?

Of course you can, there is a restiction on which countries, a background check, and you can't get alot of secret jobs. I know its true for Army, navy and Air Force.
