The Russian's are so poor, for $10,000 they will give you joyride in a Mig. They can bearly handel the Chechens. NATO?
Depends if the Europeans actually put up a fight. Other than the UK & Canada I don't think much of NATO forces.

Today's Russia is far from weak... but is weaker than the Soviet Union of old.
So the answer would be yes... because the NATO of today is just as powerful, if not much more than the one of 1990 (and remember the USA is a part of NATO).

If this were the 1960's then It would be a tough one to call but now?
NATO is larger, Russia is a Shadow of its former military self and no longer has the forces of its old Warsaw pact allies or the manpower of the Ukraine and other breakaway republics to help

Once again, the subject matter non-experts come to the fore. Amazing how people with no military experience or scholarship in the field are willing to just throw out answers they can't justify. Amazing.
Okay, asides from the fact that the Russian Federation and NATO are not at odds and this is one of those "who would win, King Kong or Godzilla?" type questions, here's the answer:
The old Soviet threat to NATO revolved around its primary striking force: The Group of Soviet Forces in Germany, with approximately 350,000 troops of all sorts, with something like over 12,000 armored vehicles. It was massive. It was frightening. And it left Europe by 1994, to be disbanded forever after the fall of the Soviet Union.
The Russian Federation maintains a fraction of the forces that the old Soviet Union could muster, at a lower state of overall quality and readiness. It does not have any forces prepositioned to fight NATO. Neither does NATO have any forces prepositioned to fight the Russian Federation. A conventional war at this stage would hurt the Russians very badly, as they would have to cross over their former Warsaw Pact territories and fight through them, as opposed to using them as levies as in the past.
If it went nuclear or chemical, the Russians would win - for a brief moment. It would be an extremely Pyrrhic victory, as there wouldn't be much of Europe left, nor would there be much of Russia left for that matter after the retaliatory strikes were done.
If it came down to small-unit action, I'm willing to put money on NATO over the Russian Federation, unless the Russians were using VDV or better quality troops.
The Cold War's over by the way, in case you forgot.

I think it would be quite evenly matched but NATO would have the better resources to win, the question that should be asked is if CHINA went to war with NATO. I think CHINA would kick a**e.

Yes, Russia is a mess and it does not help matters with it making allies of any evil group or country that comes along.
