Originally, Muslims did represent the Prophet in art. They cannot represent God however. That is why they use Arabic, which is one of the most beautiful written languages in the world, the represent Allah. The way in which the Prophet was represented was in a fashion which can be seen as an insult to Islam. It would be like taking the Prophet Jesus and putting him in a cartoon to make fun of him or Christians. Not funny.

I remember my father telling me " if you mess with muslims, dont mess with their religion" And the muslims paid a great amount of money just to track down the cartoonist and have him killed. And i dont understand why they react so violently, however, there are so many cartoons that mock Jesus (The Simpsons, Southpark, Family Guy etc.) but you dont Christians rallying...

Muslims respect Jesus as much as they respect Muhammad(PBUH). I dont understand why people can't learn to respect other religions.

because they respect him but he did not tell the truth about jesus muslims believe that jesus is a profet but he was more much more he is the only way to meet with God if you deny that jesus died and rose again so that we can be forgiven then you cannot get to heaven. jesus is the only way to escape hell. jesus is the only way to heaven. God promised abraham that he would bless the world through the jews. jesus was a jew and the promised messiah any one no matter who they are what they have done or where they come from can be saved through jesus there is no other way.

As fundamentalists anything said or done in a derogatory way will offend Muslim. They are like what Christians were 1000 years ago, crazy. Hopefully they will moderate too.

Because they have no sense of humour, no rationality and want an excuse to get angry at something.
I don't really think that, but otherwise I cannot see why they would do that. Most rational people don't get that angry if you insult their dead mother.
I also realise most Muslims are decent people, but as always it's the loud minority that gets the attention.

Nobody is allowed to wave anything about if it's against or about THEM, but I DID notice a lot of them walking about with a load of nasty threatening posters a few weeks ago - and what action was taken? "Not enough evidence..." despite it all having been shown on TV. In any case, some people have NO sense of humour!

Because it is offensive in their religion to have depictions of Mohammad. It's not like in Catholicism,for example, where icons are readily displayed for worship.

Their religion is a bit strict when it comes to chives.
