Tell your friend not to give him the note; rather tell him in person. There's a couple reasons for this.

Reason #1: Leaving a note for him will give him time to fabricate a phony response, and remove all other evidence of cheating from the Internet or at school or wherever. This guy is obviously using your friend as a last resort, for when he can't get any other girls; he has someone to go back to. Otherwise, why would he bother staying with her? By confronting him in person, you will eliminate all preparation time; his answer will have to be on the spot, which will provide much more pressure and hopefully reveal the truth.

Reason #2: You can't yell at someone through a note. I mean; sure, you can write in all-capitalized letters and put as many exclamation marks as you want, but that doesn't nearly compare to letting out a good scream of anger when you're two feet away from the guy.

Reason #3: Not talking about it in person will only make your friend look like someone who's too shy and too afraid to break up with him. If writing notes is how you're gonna handle a break-up, you might as well write notes for everything else you experience in life. Your friend will develop a stronger sense of self-respect and confidence if she breaks up with him in person. It's a strength-builder.

Hope that answers your question. Feel free to email me with any other questions or concerns.

the mature way to end it is to say it to him, in person... It will also give her closure... she can't hold onto him he loves someone else... if she loves him, she'll let him go, she will over come the heart ache. Besides who wants a guy who can throw those three little words around like its no big deal....
